Meet Sebastian

My name is Sebastian Weiss and I am mechanical engineer from Germany, interested in mechanics, off-roading & overlanding, Linux & Open-Source software. On my journey I want to explore and reconnect with nature and learn more about myself and life itself. Knowing that the importance in life is about our connection to nature and to be in balance with ourselves and with our environment.

Meet Kathrin

My name is Kathrin Weiss and I am a geologist from Germany. I live in the mountains with my family of 4 — a place that has completely reshaped my awareness of nature and environment. When I'm not out and about with my family, you can usually find me somewhere between creative projects or a good book - often with an audio book or podcast on my ears. Since the birth of our second child, who lives with Down's syndrome, the topics of inclusion and accessible language have become particularly important to me.

In 2023 we bought a used Toyota Land Cruiser Prado J12 with already over 200.000 km on the clock. While having heard so many good things about the Toyota Land Cruiser series, I soon fell in love with this vehicle. As a family, we enjoy the freedom, reliability and comfort of this vehicle. We love that our new companion will take us everywhere, even through rough terrain. Enjoying the everyday driving, the feeling of safety and comfort, this vehicle lets us explore Europe and everything beyond.

Though the Prado is labeled the light-duty Land Cruiser, our new companion carries none of that weightlessness in spirit. It feels eager, grounded, and ready for real work. There’s a quiet urge in it—to roam, to explore, to leave the pavement behind. Every time I drive on ordinary asphalt, a restlessness stirs in me. I catch myself scanning the horizon for fields, for forests, for any excuse to stray. I have to gently rein it in. But maybe that’s just the wild heart of this vehicle, whispering to be free.

Off-roading, the art of getting dirty and going broke while slowly heading nowhere and taking all day to do it.

We enjoy camping in remote places while being surrounded by nature, together with our Land Cruiser. On our journey we want to discover countries and its people – far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and away from the tourist crowds.

In the recent years we have invested a lot of time and effort in this vehicle and outfit our Land Cruiser with camping gear and make it even better for off-roading.
